Radio Flyer

I took the boys out for a ride in the wagon tonight.  It was Colin's first time and he loved it.  He sat up so well with just a lap harness and really enjoyed being with his big brother!  I am looking forward to getting outside a whole lot more now that we are dealing with the tail end of summer.  It's just been so hot this year!  I appreciate the thought of the cool evenings September should bring.

 

The Best Gelato

  If you're ever on the Jersey shore be sure to stop by Casa di Dolci Gelateria in Asbury Park. Order one of these babies and enjoy!  Caramello, sea salt, and pretzels are combined to make this utterly sinful, decadent, delicious dessert!  With a sprinkle of sea salt on top, you can't go wrong.  Best sweet treat I've had in a long time.  Stay tuned for a future post about my adventures in Asbury with my good friend Anthony.

Smugmug

Recently I've been working on catching up with our smugmug family photo site.  My goal is to have it updated to current by Christmas...realistic goal?  Not so sure!

Hershey Gardens

I was fortunate enough to have some time alone today and I decided to spend a couple hours at Hershey Gardens.  I brought my camera (of course) and my book.  After practicing a little with my newest lens, I found a nice quiet bench under a shady tree and read a couple chapters.  It was a beautiful evening in a beautiful setting and just what I needed to recharge my mom batteries.  The kids can come home now...I miss them!

These watering cans were displayed in the children's garden, handpainted by local children.

Sweet Baby Boy

He's 7 months old.
He's a thinker.
He's a crawler.
He's a teether.
He's a puff eater (and a puff dropper).
He's the little brother.
He's got the most beautiful blue eyes.
He's a solid night sleeper.
He's a waver.
He's a stinker.
He's a talker.
He's finally growing some hair.
He's a snuggler.
He's a cat chaser.
He's a sweetheart.
He's Colin.
He's ours.

Wildwood Lake

While my parents were in town today we decided to take a ride to a local nature preserve here in Harrisburg.  It was a beautiful day for a little walk and a peek around the nature center.  Wildwood Lake is a great sanctuary carved out of a corner of our city.  There are plenty of trails, picnic tables, and fun activities for the kids.  I went camera-less for once but my dad caught some nice shots.  What beautiful weather we had!

Colin did an awesome job in the Ergo...even fell asleep after a short walk.

Grandmom was teaching Scott that the Goldfinch is the New Jersey state bird...I'm sure he'll repeat it out of the blue next month.

This will be even more beautiful in the fall!

Train Day

We "train watched" yesterday.  Scott was in heaven!  It's only a short drive for us to Strasburg, PA (Train Town) so the boys and I took a ride, had a picnic, watched the steam engines roll by, played and even visited the Toy Train Museum.  We had a great time!

I will always love Ocean City, NJ....and I think it's safe to say my boys will too!
